CoverGel, one of the projects selected in CaixaImpulse 2018, has been awarded best project in the IDEA2 Global programme, a mentoring initiative developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The programme recognises and supports highly innovative biomedical technologies, in order to help propel them into the market, and is sponsored by the Fundación para la Innovación y la Prospectiva en Salud en España (FIPSE), Cantabria Labs and Boston Landing.

Led at the Germans Trias I Pujol Research Institute, CoverGel proposes an innovative topical hydrogel for endoscopic therapeutic interventions that prevents complications such as perforations and bleeding. As part of the IDEA2 Global programme, 15 projects were selected to receive six months of specialised business mentoring.
