The aim of the Open Innovation Forum, which will be running its second edition in 2019, is to give companies the chance to share the biggest challenges they face when it comes to their innovations, and to receive feedback and possible solutions from research groups and innovation stakeholders. Likewise, research and technology centres that wish to share their insights may also apply.

The Catalan programme will remain open throughout 2019. Applicants can submit their innovation challenges online in one of five knowledge areas, two of which are healthcare and medtech. These will then be assessed, and the most relevant ones will have access to support and feedback from innovation experts and research centres, as well as being invited to gatherings with the problem-solvers. The programme offers an opportunity for the convergence of Catalonia’s business and research and technology life sciences sectors, and a chance to propel the latest innovations to the market.
