Until 10 February, healthcare innovators are invited to apply for the Wild Card programme, an initiative designed to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing healthcare. In its 2019 edition, applicants are asked to address one of two focus areas: mental and brain health, and digital biomarkers, which were announced last month at the EIT Health Summit.

30 applicants will be brought together in a 5-day hackathon, where they will form teams and develop their ideas into high-impact innovations, with real-world transferability. From here, shortlisted teams will begin a 10-week acceleration programme, before two winning teams are selected to receive €2 million in funding towards the development of their projects into commercial businesses.
