CaixaImpulse has officially launched the fifth edition of its programme and is seeking 25 innovative health and biomedical projects to support and develop starting in 2019.
Researchers and entrepreneurs in the health and biomedicine sectors are invited to submit their proposals for the 2019 CaixaImpulse programme until 18 March, under one of the following three business areas:
- Pharmaceuticals and Medical Biotechnology
- Digital Health
A peer review process, followed by interviews with a panel of experts, will select 25 projects to each receive between €70,000 and €100,000 to create and implement a valorisation plan.
In addition to funding, the selected projects will have access to a team of mentors and experts, who will provide training and consultation in a number of areas, such as project management, tech transfer, assessment, finance and commercialisation tools, and negotiations.
Since its first edition in 2015, the CaixaImpulse programme has supported 78 projects with a total investment of €5.5 million. Thirteen of these projects have resulted in the launch of a spin-off.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Thanks to our partnership with EIT Health, the call is open to projects from any country in the EU. The projects must be led by non-profit institutions, such as hospitals, universities and research centres.
The proposals presented must be in the field of health or biomedicine, have the capacity to make an impact on society, and the potential to be transferred to the market.
