Are you developing a new technology, tool, therapy, or diagnostic kit that offers an innovative solution to a biomedical problem?
CaixaImpulse could be the acceleration programme you need to bring it to the market!
If you work for a non-profit institution, such as a university, research centre, or hospital, we invite you to submit your project proposal to one of our two calls: CaixaImpulse Validate or CaixaImpulse Consolidate.
Currently in its 6th edition, CaixaImpulse Validate provides up to €100,000 per project to create and implement a valorisation plan. Participants also receive training, mentoring and expert consultancy to finetune their plans, and maximize their projects’ value. The 2020 call will continue to receive support from the European Institute of Technology (EIT Health) and will support up to 25 projects that are in early stages of development (TRL1-4). It opens on the 4th February and closes on the 16th March.
First launched in 2019, CaixaImpulse Consolidate is our new call for more mature projects. This programme grants up to €300,000 to each, and provides training that is specially catered to biomedical projects with a TRL of 4 or higher. The aim is to boost projects to an investment-ready stage. Projects that have already launched as a spin-off in the last two years can apply for this call, but the main beneficiary must be a non-profit institution. This is a permanently open call with several cut-offs per year. To be considered for the next round, submit your letter of intent by the 23rd March.
CaixaImpulse provides an invaluable opportunity to join a community of key industry players, investors, and fellow researchers and entrepreneurs. Below, some of our past participants share their experiences of the programme.
“CaixaImpulse helped us at a very crucial time: the proof of concept of our technology. At that point we were still a purely scientific team, and it was the CaixaImpulse training programme that guided us through the start of the technology transfer process in the medical sector.”
Marta Guardiola, CTO of MiWEndo Solutions, a spinoff from UPF (CaixaImpulse Validate 2016)
“CaixaImpulse is giving us financial support, which is important. But the most important thing is the network that they are providing us with. They are connecting us with the manufacturers of medical devices, and with other stakeholders in the health industry.”
Jimmy Martins, Project Leader of TimeUp (CaixaImpulse Validate 2019)
“The CaixaImpulse Consolidate pilot programme increased the value of our project and was the definitive support to continue with the development of HIPARCO-Score technology. The possibility to validate hypothesis and assumptions made in the first experience with the mentors has been a great endorsement for the project.”
Pablo Campos, CEO at Onira Research (CaixaImpulse Consolidate pilot programme)
