As coronavirus spreads across the globe, it is now more important than ever for health innovators to come together to help solve this crisis. Despite travel bans and social distancing measures, there are a number of initiatives being launched to enable innovators to connect and take action. EIT Health, which supports CaixaImpulse, has created a number of online tools to bring its network together to respond to the pandemic.
One such solution is the “matchmaking” platform Make Connections, which takes advantage of EIT Health’s large network to connect innovators, start-ups and healthcare professionals. Members of the community can post and respond to COVID-19 related needs and solutions. The posts include both rapid response and long-term projects aimed at preventing future pandemics. There is an EIT Health taskforce dedicated to fostering connections through this tool.
EIT Health is keeping its network up-to-date on the developments being made against coronavirus with the online feature Community Response. The innovations being covered in this section range from development of critical medical equipment, potential vaccines and treatment to remote monitoring and patient support and donation of emergency supplies.
